Why It's Important to Take a Break from your Business

I don't want to say I'm a workaholic, but I work A LOT! I enjoy working on my business. No, wait, actually I LOVE it! I always tell people that 24 hours is not enough and never going to be enough because I have a lot of things to do... which is good! But can be overwhelming at times. I love my business so much that every time I'm out, I just want to go home ASAP and continue what I'm working on (especially when I'm working on a super cute resource!). But last year Keith would never think about that. 😂

But what if I tell you that taking a break is actually good for your health and your business? Here are some of the reasons why.

1. When you take care of your health, you take care of your business. I went on a 5-days trip to Sao Paulo on the first week of December and it felt great not to be with my computer! Ever since I opened my store on Teachers Pay Teachers in March 2021, I had not taken a real vacation! My boyfriend and I treated ourselves to some Korean foods and snacks and everything Asian! We went to shopping malls, had a lot of Starbucks, walked a lot, rode the metro, and just enjoyed life despite the ongoing pandemic!

2. You get more ideas and are more motivated when/after you take a break. Before I left for Sao Paulo, I had written my to-do list because I know when I get back, I'll be more pumped to work and create resources. It's nice to clear your head once in a while to make room for new ideas!

3. It can improve your work performance. Need I say more? Taking a break restores your energy and mental resources and other things that burn you out from working unstoppable.

As a small business owner, it's really important to take a break because when my business takes off, then I'll need to take longer vacations 😁

I hope you learn a thing or two from this short post.
