Best Psychological Thriller Books to Read in 2022 + My Top Self-Help Books

This blog post will discuss my top psychological thriller books of all time in 2022. You have probably heard some of them, but I urge you to read them if you're a fan of thriller books. Not only that, but I will also talk about my top 5 influential self-help books that have changed my mindset and point of view about managing my small business and life in general.

I started my love for reading back when I was in high school. I used to read a lot of novels. I don't even remember how I got ahold of those books. I stopped reading when I started university, and life got busy. I was fascinated with all the lovely book covers, but I didn't have a lot of space in my apartment, so I let go of my love for reading at the time.

Three months ago, I bought a Kindle Paperwhite from Amazon. And my life has changed! Subscribing to Kindle Unlimited was such a game-changer! I read romance books but got into psychological thriller books (thanks to booktok!), and I never looked back!

So, to answer the question, "What should you read?" here are some of my psychological thriller book recommendations this 2022.

My top 1 book of all time is The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. It is an absolutely addictive psychological thriller with a jaw-dropping twist, and let me tell you. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

My boyfriend read it too, and he kept complaining about how annoying the main character is. Only to be shocked by the plot twist! So unexpected!

I also read the books Do Not Disturb, The Wife Upstairs, and The Inmate. The plot twists in her books are things you can't imagine will happen! Like you think you already know it, but no, Freida has another plan!

Do you want to hear some great news? Her books are FREE on Kindle Unlimited! So, go create an account on Amazon and register on KU. They offer a free trial for a month!

Oh wait, did I tell you that The Housemaid is turning into a movie?! You're welcome!

My second favorite is Verity by Colleen Hoover. I know people are saying it's similar to The Wife Upstairs, but they are different in their own ways. Somehow, I like The Wife Upstairs better. But Verity got me all shook too!

The other books I read from CoHo are It Ends With Us and Reminders of Him.

My third favorite is The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. While reading it, I wondered why the patient was silent the whole time. I kept asking, "did she really do it?? or "Did she really commit the act of violence against her husband?" But after reading the ending, everything made sense. I felt cold water splashed all over me after my WHYs were answered. Highly recommend!

My fourth favorite is Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell. I don't know if this story is based on the author's experience because Felix is the main character's name. It is creepy. It is scary. And sometimes I would stop reading at night or read a different book because I was scared! But as a fan of all things scary (even if I'm a scaredy-cat), I would love to see this book on the big screen!

Let's lighten up the mood a little bit. Let's go to my other favorite literary genre, self-help books. Here are the books I highly recommend you to read if you experience problems with productivity, you want to focus on your goals, or you want to change your life for the better.

  1. Atomic Habits by James Clear. Tiny changes, remarkable results. Proven and tested!
  2. Eat that Frog! by Brian Tracy. I love this book because it's direct to the point and not full of dilly-dallying!
  3. Your Best Year Ever by Michael Hyatt. I'm going to re-read this book in December!
  4. To-Do List Formula by Damon Zahariades
  5. Morning Makeover by Damon Zahariades. Damon is my new favorite author! His books about productivity and time management are free on Kindle Unlimited.

I would also love to read books about money. I want to read Profit First and The Psychology of Money. But so many good books on Kindle Unlimited are hard to pass!

I'm currently in a phase where I want to learn more, read more books, or even buy courses. This year is about learning and trying new things. It is also the year for investing in my business to benefit me in the long run.

I love reading self-help books as much as psychological thriller books. So, if you are in a book slump, I recommend you to read the books mentioned in this blog post and thank me later *wink wink
